    Firefighter Turnout Gear Cleaning

Shamrock Gear & Repair LLC provides the important cleaning and inspections for firefighter turnout gear.  Proper cleaning process are mandated by NFPA 1971, andNFPA 1851 in order to ensure the life- preserving qualities of the firefighter ensemble.

NFPA has addressed the concern of dangerously contaminated firefighter ensembles by establishing standards.  NFPA 1971 sets manufacturer requirements for the ensembleused in structural firefighting and for the cleaning of protective clothing.  NFPA 1851 specifies requirements for the care and maintenance of protective clothing including: coats, trousers, helmets, hoods, helmets, and gloves.

Shamrock Gear uses top quality Unimac machines form Alliance Laundry,  extract the firefighter ensembles.  Our machine, along with products from ECOLAB, allows us to clean the dirtiest of gear while protecting  the integrity of the specialized fabrics used in the firefighter ensemble.

Drying takes place in our custom made “Drying Shed”.  “The Shed” dries using forced air from below and power vents above.  We do not use direct heat to dry.  These units allow us to clean and dry your gear in 24-48 hours.  This reduces firefighter ”out-of-service” time.
